Bragg Road traffic to be shifted to new lanes today
New traffic signals will not be activated

FREDERICKSBURG– Motorists traveling on Bragg Road in Spotsylvania County today will be among the first to travel on the newly constructed northbound lanes between Route 3 and the entrance to Central Park.

Just before noon today, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will shift traffic traveling north on Bragg Road from Route 3 towards Central Park to the new travel lanes.  Meanwhile, the traffic traveling south from Central Park towards Route 3 will continue to be restricted to one lane to allow crews to continue applying the final driving surface.

The new traffic signals located at Wills Way and River Road will not be activated today and motorists turning at these two intersections will be required to stop and yield to on-coming traffic.  The signals will be placed in flashing mode some time next week.

Flaggers and signs will direct motorists to the new travel lanes.

                                                                                 (END)
