INTERSTATE AND MOST PRIMARY ROUTES CLEAR FOR MORNING COMMUTE
(Secondary routes and subdivision streets remain snow covered - use caution )

FREDERICSKSBURG —   VDOT crews spent the overnight hours clearing the interstate, primary routes and major secondary routes for the morning commute.  Some of these routes may have icy patches and slick spots and motorists should use extreme caution especially at bridges, overpasses and on ramps.

Secondary routes and subdivision streets remain in moderate to severe condition.  Crews will be working throughout the day and tomorrow to address the secondary routes and subdivisions streets. Driving conditions remain hazardous and motorists should use extreme caution.

Road condition definitions
• Severe – drifting or partially blocked road. Snow tires or chains are necessary.
• Moderate – snow or ice on major portions of the roadway. Snow tires or chains are advisable.
• Minor – bare pavement except for isolated spots of snow, ice or slush. Driving with caution is recommended.
