Hot Spots for the Fredericksburg Region
March 1 – 7, 2009

Stafford County

 

§          Interstate 95

Monday, 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.;  the I-95 off ramp to eastbound Rt. 3 (Exit 130-A) from I-95 north will be closed for guard rail work. 

 

Monday – Thursday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; crews will be installing a concrete barrier along the shoulder on I-95 north at Exit 133 (Rt. 17/Falmouth). The right travel lane will be closed to traffic. 

 

Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; motorists should be alert to crews working in the median on I-95 between the Rappahannock River Bridge and the Caroline C.L.  This is a mobile operation.  All travel lanes will be open.

 

Tuesday, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. : crews will be replacing guardrail on northbound  I-95 just  north and south of Exit 143 (Rt. 610/Garrisonville).  Motorists may be restricted to two lanes periodically within the work zone.

 

Thursday, 8 a.m. – 11 p.m; motorists should be alert to a mobile operation along the shoulder of southbound I-95 between the Prince William C.L. and Exit 136 (Centreport Pkwy.)

 

Thursday, 11 a.m. –  4 p.m; motorists should be alert to a mobile operation along the shoulder of northbound  I-95 just north and south of Exit 143 (Rt. 610/Garrisonville).

 

§          Route 17 @ I-95

Sunday - Thursday, 8 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane on Rt. 17 at the I-95 interchange.  Crews are repairing the structural beams on the I-95 bridge over Rt. 17.  Expect brief delays.

 

§          Route 677 (Mt. Hope Church Road)

Mt. Hope Church Road will be closed to traffic beginning at 9 a.m. on Wednesday. CSX crews will be repairing the rail crossing.  Work will be completed with 24 hours and the road will be open to traffic on Thursday.  Residents and emergency services will be allowed access.

 

 Spotsylvania County

 

·          Route 632

Monday, 8 a.m. – 10 a.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane on Rt. 632.  Crews will be removing trees.

 

·          Smoke Tree Subdivision

On Wednesday crews will be installing all-way stops at the following locations.  Motorists should be alert to the new traffic pattern.

 

o         Woodland View Drive @ Hickory Creek Drive

o         Arbor Glenn Drive @ Cedar Crest Drive.

o         Arbor Glenn Drive @ Woodland View Drive

 

·          Route 639 (Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue -Ongoing Construction Project

Motorists should be alert to construction crews and equipment working along the shoulder along Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue.  This is in connection with the project to Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue from two to four lanes between Rt. 3 and the entrance to Central Park. The estimated completion date for this project is summer 2011.

 

·          Route 608 bridge over I-95 – Ongoing Construction Project

Construction continues on the Rt. 608 bridge over I-95.  Motorists should be alert to construction crews and equipment and changes in traffic patterns in this area.

 

King George County

 

·          Harry Nice Memorial Bridge (Route 301)

Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane on the bridge.  Trucks greater than 11 ft. wide will not be allowed to cross the bridge during work hours.  For more information call 301-259-4444.
