Hot Spots for the Fredericksburg Region
February 8 – 14, 2009
Monday – Thursday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; crews will be installing a concrete barrier along the shoulder on I-95 north at Exit 133 (Rt. 17/Falmouth). The right travel lane will be closed to traffic.
Monday – Thursday, 10 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.; crews will be replacing and/or installing pavement sensors on I-95 north just north of Exit 140 (Rt. 630/Stafford). Motorists should expect periodic lane closures in this area.
Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.; crews will be repairing the shoulder on northbound I-95 between Exit 118 (Rt. 639/Ladysmith) and Exit 133 (Rt. 17/Falmouth). Motorists will be restricted to two lanes at various locations for this mobile work zone.
Tuesday – Thursday, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Friday, 8 a.m. - noon; crews will be replacing guardrail on northbound
I-95 just south of the Prince William C. L. Motorists may be restricted to two lanes periodically within the work zone.
Tuesday, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.; crews will be repairing potholes on Rt. 2 between Rt. 609 and Rt. 17. Motorists should be alert to this mobile operation.
Route 639 (Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue -Ongoing Construction Project
Motorists should be alert to construction crews and equipment working along the shoulder along Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue. This is in connection with the project to Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue from two to four lanes between Rt. 3 and the entrance to Central Park. The estimated completion date for this project is summer 2011.
Route 608 bridge over I-95 – Ongoing Construction Project
Construction continues on the Rt. 608 bridge over I-95. Motorists should be alert to construction crews and equipment and changes in traffic patterns in this area.
King George County
Harry Nice Memorial Bridge (Route 301)
Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane on the bridge. Trucks greater than 11 ft. wide will not be allowed to cross the bridge during work hours. For more information call 301-259-4444.
Colemans Mill Road
On Tuesday at 3 p.m. CSX crews will be repairing the rail crossing on Coleman’s Mill Road. The crossing will be closed to traffic until 10 a.m. on Thursday. Motorists should seek the most convenient alternate route.
