Hot Spots for the Fredericksburg Region
February 1 – 7, 2009

 

Stafford County

Interstate 95

Monday – Thursday, 10 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.;  crews will be replacing and/or installing pavement sensors on I-95 north just north of Exit  140 (Rt. 630/Stafford).  Motorists should expect periodic lane closures in this area.

Tuesday – Thursday, 5 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Friday, 5 a.m. - noon; crews will be replacing guardrail on southbound

 I-95 just south of the Prince William C. L.  Motorists may be restricted to two lanes periodically within the work zone. between 5 a.m. and 3 p.m., each day.

Tuesday – Thursday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; crews will be installing a concrete barrier along the shoulder on I-95 north at Exit 133 (Rt. 17/Falmouth). The right travel lane will be closed to traffic. 

Spotsylvania County

     Route 639 (Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue -Ongoing Construction Project

Motorists should be alert to construction crews and equipment working along the shoulder along Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue.  This is in connection with the project to Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue from two to four lanes between Rt. 3 and the entrance to Central Park. The estimated completion date for this project is summer 2011.

Route 608 bridge over I-95 – Ongoing Construction Project

Construction continues on the Rt. 608 bridge over I-95.  Motorists should be alert to construction crews and equipment and changes in traffic patterns in this area.

King George County

        Route 3/Route 678

Motorists are reminded that the new traffic signal at the intersection of Route 3 and Route 678 located at the entrance to the new King George High School is fully operational.  Motorists should be alert to the change in traffic patterns in this area

Harry Nice Memorial Bridge (Route 301)

Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane on the bridge.  Trucks greater than 11 ft. wide will not be allowed to cross the bridge during work hours.  For more information call 301-259-4444.
