Hot Spots for the Fredericksburg Region
January 11 - 17, 2009

Stafford County

Interstate 95

Crews will be placing stone on the shoulder and/or replacing guardrail on both north and southbound I-95.  Motorists should be alert to this mobile operation at the following locations:

Monday:           Southbound at the Prince William C.L. - (7:30 a.m. –  2 p.m.)

Tuesday:           Southbound just north and south of Exit 136 (Centrport Pkwy.) - (7:30 a.m. - 12 noon)

                         Northbound just north and south of Exit 143 (Rt. 610/Garrisonville) – (12 noon – 7 p.m.)

Wednesday:       Northbound just north and south of Exit 143 (Rt. 610/Garrisonville) – (10 a.m. – 7 p.m.)

                         Southbound at the Prince William C.L. – (7 a.m. – 7 p.m.)

Thursday:          Southbound at the Prince William C.L. –(7 a.m. – 7 p.m.)

                         Ramps at Exit 140 (Rt. 630/Stafford) – (8 a.m. – 6 p.m.)

Friday:               Ramps at Exit 140 (Rt. 630/Stafford) - shoulder work only – (8 a.m. – 6 p.m.)

                         Southbound at the Prince William C.L. - shoulder work only - (7 a.m. – 7 p.m.)

Tuesday - Wednesday, 9 p.m. - 4:30 a.m; motorists will be restricted to one lane on I-95 north between Exit 140(Rt.630.Stafford) and Exit 143 (Rt. 610/Garrisonville).  Crews will be repairing the pavement traffic counters in this area.  
  
Route 17 @ I-95
Sunday - Thursday, 8 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane on Rt. 17 at the I-95 interchange.  Crews are repairing the structural beams on the I-95 bridge over Rt. 17.  Expect brief delays.

Spotsylvania County

     Interstate 95

Monday – Tuesday, 10 p.m. – 4 a.m.; northbound motorists will be restricted to one lane on I-95 at mile marker 123 located between Exit 118 (Rt. 606/Thornburg) and Exit 126 (Rt.1/Spotsylvania).   This is in connection with the Rt. 608 bridge project.

Wednesday – Thursday, 10 p.m. – 4 a.m.; southbound motorists will be restricted to one lane on I-95 at mile marker 123 located between Exit 126 (Rt.1/Spotsylvania) and Exit 118 (Rt. 606/Thornburg). This is in connection with the Rt. 608 bridge project.

Route 1 @ Hudgins Rd.

Motorists should be alert to crews working to replace the damage pipe on Rt. 1 at Hudgins Road.  Motorists should expect periodic lane closures in this area and changes in traffic patterns.

Route 639 (Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue -Ongoing Construction Project

Motorists should be alert to construction crews and equipment working along the shoulder along Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue.  This is in connection with the project to Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue from two to four lanes between Rt. 3 and the entrance to Central Park. The estimated completion date for this project is summer 2011.

Route 608 bridge over I-95 – Ongoing Construction Project

Construction continues on the Rt. 608 bridge over I-95.  Motorists should be alert to construction crews and equipment and changes in traffic patterns in this area.

King George County

Harry Nice Memorial Bridge (Route 301)
Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane on the bridge.  Trucks greater than 11 ft. wide will not be allowed to cross the bridge during work hours.  For more information call 301-259-4444.
