CREWS PREPARE FOR WINTRY MIX
(Interstate and primary routes have been pretreated)

FREDERICKSBURG—  With freezing rain and snow in the forecast for tonight, tomorrow and New Years Day. VDOT crews have pretreated the interstate and primary routes in the Fredericksburg area.

Crews in Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George, Caroline, King William, Essex, King and Queen and Westmoreland will mobilize at midnight tonight and will work in 12 hour shifts monitoring the weather conditions and roadway temperatures and applying sand, salt and abrasives, as needed.

Motorists are reminded to be alert to icy conditions, particularly on bridges, overpasses and ramps; these areas may freeze first. In addition, travelers are encouraged to call 511 or www.511virgini.org  for real-time traffic information and road conditions.
