Crews continue to make progress on area roads
(Focus has shifted to secondary routes and subdivisions)

FREDERICKSBURG – VDOT is making progress on area roads with the help of Mother Nature. Major roads are clear and crews have shifted their focus to secondary routes and subdivision streets.

Some roads may still be snow covered because of packed snow and freezing temperatures. These conditions may require the use of a motor grader to break through the frozen surface; however, crews are applying salt, sand and abrasives to provide traction for motorists.  Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling in these areas and reminded that even treated roads may re-freeze overnight.

VDOT will continue to work towards its’ goal to have all roads passable within 48 hours after the storm ended.
