TURKEY RIDGE RD. CLOSED APRIL 20-MAY 8 FOR BRIDGE WORK
Bridge over Blackwater Creek near Castleton to be replaced

CULPEPER — Beginning next Monday, the Virginia Department of Transportation will close a portion of Route 615 (Turkey Ridge Road) in Rappahannock County for a bridge project.

From April 20 to May 8, a VDOT bridge crew will work on the Blackwater Creek bridge located near Castleton, approximately two miles north of the intersection of Route 650 (Obannons Mill Road). The current steel-beam, timber-deck bridge, built in 1947, is posted with an 18-ton weight limit. In its place VDOT will install a concrete bridge that can carry all legal loads.

Approximately 20 vehicles travel Route 615 per day. During the three-week closure, motorists should use an alternate route.
