UTILITY WORK TO CAUSE DELAYS ON RT. 29 IN RUCKERSVILLE
Motorists advised to use alternate route on Sunday between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m.
CULPEPER — Utility work scheduled for Sunday, March 2, will create significant traffic delays on Route 29 (Seminole Trail) in the Ruckersville area of Greene County.
Rappahannock Electric Cooperative will work between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. that day to run power lines across Route 29 in the vicinity of Route 616 (Carpenters Mill Road), just south of Route 33 (Spotswood Trail).
As the lines are run, no vehicles will be permitted to pass through the area. The traveling public should expect stops of up to 10 minutes occurring at intervals during the work hours. Motorists are advised to use an alternate route if possible.
Message boards will be in place today to inform motorists of the work and related traffic impacts.
The work is being done under permit issued by the Virginia Department of Transportation. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office will provide traffic control.
