UTILITY WORK ON RT. 29 IN GREENE WILL TAKE PLACE SUNDAY
Motorists should use an alternate route between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
CULPEPER — Utility work along Route 29 in Ruckersville that was rained out last weekend has been rescheduled for this Sunday, April 6.
Motorists should expect significant traffic delays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. while a contractor for Rappahannock Electric Cooperative runs power lines across Route 29 just north of Route 607 (Cedar Grove Road/Matthew Mill Road).
As the lines are run, no vehicles will be permitted to pass through the area. The traveling public should expect stops of up to 10 minutes occurring at intervals during the work hours. Motorists are advised to use an alternate route if possible.
Message boards are in place to inform motorists of the work and related traffic impacts.
The work is being done under permit issued by the Virginia Department of Transportation. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office will provide traffic control.
