No additional road closures will occur; bridge project, intermittent lane closures continue
CULPEPER — Work to set in place steel girders on the new Route 6 (West River Road) bridge over the Hardware River in Fluvanna County was completed this morning.
VDOT had advertised that the work and associated road closures would continue through Dec. 18, but no additional closures will affect travel on Route 6.
The bridge replacement project continues, with some temporary lane closures needed through its August 2015 completion date. The $4.39 million project is being constructed by VDOT contractor Allegheny Construction Co. of Roanoke.
