Event will also feature a session on VDOT careers, hiring process

CULPEPER — The Virginia Department of Transportation is reaching out to the community to recruit potential new vendors and potential new hires.

On Thursday, Sept. 25 from 4 to 7 p.m., VDOT will host a combination Small Business Fair and Career Information Fair at its Culpeper District office, 1601 Orange Road, Culpeper.

The Small Business Fair will teach owners of small businesses how to enroll with and maximize use of eVA, the Commonwealth’s electronic procurement system, and the small, women-owned and minority-owned (SWAM) business certification program. These steps are essential to doing business not only with VDOT but other state and local government agencies.

A newly added session will focus on VDOT career opportunities. Human Resources staff will provide an overview of the application process and information on several VDOT development programs including the Wounded Veterans Internship Program and the Core Development Program for recent college graduates.

Both events are open to the public. For more information, call 540-829-7500.
