Motorists advised to use alternate route on Sunday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
CULPEPER — Motorists should expect significant traffic delays on Route 29 (Seminole Trail) in Greene County this Sunday, March 30.
A contractor for Rappahannock Electric Cooperative will work between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. that day to run power lines across Route 29 just north of Route 607 (Cedar Grove Road/Matthew Mill Road).
As the lines are run, no vehicles will be permitted to pass through the area. The traveling public should expect stops of up to 10 minutes occurring at intervals during the work hours. Motorists are advised to use an alternate route if possible.
Message boards are in place to inform motorists of the work and related traffic impacts.
The work is being done under permit issued by the Virginia Department of Transportation. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office will provide traffic control.
