RT. 665 TO CLOSE JUNE 3 FOR BRIDGE REHABILITATION
Millington Road will be closed to through traffic at Wards Creek through July 26

CULPEPER — On June 3 the Virginia Department of Transportation will close Route 665 (Millington Road) in Albemarle County to restore the bridge over Wards Creek. The bridge is located approximately 1.9 miles north of Route 671 (Ballards Mill Road).

The current concrete bridge, built in 1955, will receive a new deck and superstructure. The work is expected to be complete and the road reopened to traffic on July 26.

While Route 665 is closed access will be maintained to all properties on both sides of the bridge. Motorists should follow the posted detour route.

Approximately 560 vehicles use Route 665 daily, according to a 2009 count.
