    <title>NEW HUGUENOT MEMORIAL BRIDGE OPENS NEXT WEEK - Three months ahead of schedule</title>

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) expects the remaining half of the new Huguenot Memorial Bridge to open to all traffic Tuesday, May 28, weather permitting. Drivers will enjoy a wider and more bike/pedestrian-friendly bridge with one 12-foot travel lane and one 10-foot shoulder in each direction. The wider shoulders will function as both an emergency breakdown lane and an area for cyclists to safely use the bridge. In addition, there will be a 5-foot wide sidewalk on each side for pedestrians. </description>

STAUNTON – The following is a list of highway work that might affect traffic in the Staunton transportation district during the coming weeks. The Staunton district is comprised of 11 counties, Alleghany, Bath, Rockbridge, Augusta, Highland, Rockingham, Shenandoah, Frederick, Page, Warren and Clarke. Work scheduled is subject to change due to inclement weather and material supplies. Motorists are advised to watch for slow-moving tractors during mowing operations. Also, when traveling through a work zone, be alert to periodic changes in traffic patterns and lane closures.

FAIR LAKES ─ The I-66 ramps to and from northbound Route 286 (the Fairfax County Parkway) will be closed overnight next week as crews continue final paving for the new Fair Lakes/Fairfax County Parkway interchange. Drivers should follow posted detours from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday-Thursday nights (May 28-30) and 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. Friday night (May 31). Police will be on site for assistance. </description>
