Forecast winter weather will delay repair work until Jan. 19

CULPEPER — Repair work to the bridge over the North Fork Rivanna River on Route 606 (Dickerson Road) in Albemarle County will not be done on Jan. 11 as previously planned. Due to the forecast for a possible winter storm on Tuesday the work will be postponed until Jan. 19.

The bridge is located approximately one mile from Route 850 and one-half mile from Route 1030. Route 606 will be closed from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 19 while the repair work is being done. Due to the short duration of the closure no detours will be posted. Motorists should use alternate routes. The repairs may be postponed due to inclement weather.

Real-time road conditions and weather forecasts are available on VDOT’s traffic and travel Web site, The site also has live traffic camera images for many major highways, including Interstate 64, I-66 and Routes 29 and 250 in Central Virginia.
