SCHEDULED CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE WORK
CULPEPER DISTRICT: Sept. 13-18, 2009


CULPEPER — The following highway work is scheduled, weather permitting, in the Culpeper District during the upcoming week. Traffic movements may be restricted and speed limits reduced in work zones. Items in italics contain new or updated information.

Albemarle County
Route 29 at Route 804Paving operation with one southbound lane closed during daylight hours on Thursday, Sept. 17. Motorists should expect signs advising of lane closures and the traffic pattern as they approach the work zone and be alert for equipment and workers moving in and out of the work zone.
Route 250 near IvyPaving operation with one lane closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Wednesday. Traffic controlled by pilot truck and flaggers. Motorists should expect congestion and delays in the area, and be alert for equipment and workers moving in and out of the work zone.
Route 743 – Advance Mills bridge. Closed at South Fork Rivanna River for replacement of the truss bridge. Detour route is posted.

Culpeper County
Route 29 from Madison County line to Route 643 at Merrimac – Paving operation with one northbound lane closed during daylight hours. Paving will also be done on crossovers and turn lanes. Motorists should expect congestion and brief delays as they approach the work zone and be alert for equipment and workers moving in and out of the travel lane.
Route 229 from Duke Street to Route 684 – Widening from two lanes to four lanes. Motorists should be alert for signs and traffic controls as they approach the work zone. Lane closures possible.

Fauquier County
Interstate 66 (milepost 26 to 20 westbound) – Paving operation. 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Alternating left and right lane closures, motorists should expect congestion and brief delays. Motorists should be alert for signs and traffic controls as they approach the work zone.
Route 605 (Dumfries Road) – Roadway improvements at the intersection of Route 674 (Atlee Road). Lane closures and delays expected between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Motorists should be alert for signs and traffic controls as they approach the work zone.

Fluvanna County
Route 15 (Route 702 to Route 652) – Surface treatment. 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Minor delays possible.

Greene County
Route 627 (Bacon Hollow Rd) – Improvements. Motorists should be alert for signs and traffic controls as they approach the work zone.
Various – Surface treatment. Minor delays possible.

Louisa County
Various – Surface treatment. Minor delays possible.

Madison County
Route 231 from Route 670 to Rappahannock County line – Paving operations. Motorists should be alert for signs and traffic controls as they approach the work zone. Brief delays are likely due to lane restrictions.
Route 642 from Route 231 to 701 – Road widening project. Motorists should be alert for signs and traffic controls as they approach the work zone. Lane closures and traffic restrictions are possible.
