ROUTE 675 BRIDGE IN FAUQUIER CO. CLOSED FOR 8 WEEKS
Project will replace steel frame and timber deck; new structure will support legal loads

CULPEPER – The bridge over South Run on Route 675 (Kelly Road) off Route 600 (Broad Run Church Road) in Fauquier County will be closed beginning Friday, Nov. 6 for approximately eight weeks. The Virginia Department of Transportation will replace the two-lane bridge’s steel frame and timber deck with a pre-cast concrete slab deck that will carry legal loads.

The bridge is now posted at a reduced weight limit of 20 tons. The superstructure replacement project is being done on an emergency basis due to significant deterioration of the bridge’s supporting steel beams recently discovered during a regular inspection.

Local traffic will be able to access all private entrances on both sides of the bridge during the replacement project. Through traffic should detour around the bridge using Route 675 to Route 1342 (Leland Road) to Route 1312 (Auburn Mills Road).
