I-64 BRIDGE DECK REPAIRS STARTING THIS WEEK
Traffic delays may occur near bridge over Stockton Creek
CULPEPER – Motorists traveling on Interstate 64 west of Charlottesville may encounter some delays in both directions as they approach the bridge over Stockton Creek.
Road shoulders in that area will be closed daily as crews from Lanford Brothers, a contractor for the Virginia Department of Transportation, repair the bridge deck in both the east and westbound roadways, weather permitting.
Temporary lane closures will be necessary at various times during the course of the project which has a fixed completion date of May 16, 2008. Any lane closure will be scheduled between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. in order to minimize any impact to rush hour traffic.
Motorists should anticipate delays, use
extra caution and obey all signs in the work zone. For real-time information about traffic
