Citizen information meeting scheduled for Route 11/Hillman Highway Corridor Study

BRISTOL - The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), Town of Abingdon and Washington County will hold a citizen information meeting next week to show study information for the Route 11 and Hillman Highway Corridor in Abingdon and Washington County, which includes a section of Routes 58 and 704 (Enterprise Road). 

The meeting will be held Tuesday, June 19 from 5 – 7 p.m. with a formal presentation at 5:30p.m. at the Harry L. Coomes Recreation Center, 300 Stanley Street, Abingdon, Virginia.     

The purpose of the meeting is to give citizens an opportunity to review and discuss study information regarding potential roadway improvements along a section of Route 11 (East Main Street), Route 609 (Hillman Highway), Route 58 and Route 704  (Enterprise Road). 

Citizens will have an opportunity to record verbal comments for the official record anytime during the meeting. Written comments will be accepted during the meeting or may be submitted to VDOT by June 29.

Study materials are available for review at the VDOT Bristol District Office, 870 Bonham Road, Bristol, Virginia.  For additional information, or if you require special assistance to participate in the meeting, please call the VDOT District Office at (276) 669-6151 or device for hearing impaired (TTY) at 711.
