Two highway contracts valued at $2.2 million approved for southwestern Virginia

RICHMOND – Two highway contracts valued at approximately $2.2 million were recently awarded in the Bristol District of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).  The Bristol District consists of 12 counties in southwestern Virginia:  Washington, Smyth, Lee, Scott, Russell, Buchanan, Tazewell, Bland, Wise, Dickenson, Grayson, and Wythe.

DLB, Inc., Hillsville, received a contract valued at approximately $1.1 million to repair the Route 460 bridge over Norfolk Southern Railway in the Cedar Bluff area of Tazewell County. 

A $163,206 contract was awarded to Cleco Corporation, Rosedale, to repair the Route 621 bridge over Powel River in Wise County.  The bridge is located at the intersection of Route 610.
