Three highway contracts valued at $4.4 million approved for southwestern Virginia

RICHMOND – Three highway contracts valued at approximately $4.4 million were recently awarded in the Bristol District of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).  The Bristol District consists of 12 counties in southwestern Virginia:  Washington, Smyth, Lee, Scott, Russell, Buchanan, Tazewell, Bland, Wise, Dickenson, Grayson, and Wythe.

W-L Construction & Paving, Inc., Chilhowie, received a contract valued at $2.9 million for paving at various locations.

A $1.2 million contract was awarded to Thomas Construction Company, Inc., Johnson City, Tenn., to reconstruct the Route 91 bridge over Middle Fork Holston River, located three miles south of Glade Spring in Washington County.

Lastly, Cleco Corporation, Rosedale, received a $391,847 contract to perform bridge repairs on the Route 352 bridge and the Route 691 bridge in Lee County.
