Design public hearing scheduled for Route 58 bridge in Scott County
June 22 from 4 - 6 p.m. at Hiltons Volunteer Fire Department

BRISTOL - The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a public hearing in June to show plans for the proposed replacement of the Route 58 bridge over North Fork Holston River in Scott County.  The public hearing will be held Tuesday, June 22 between 4 p.m. and 6p.m. at Hiltons Volunteer Fire Department, 2538 Hilton Road in Gate City.

The purpose of the meeting is to give citizens an opportunity to review and discuss plans for replacing the Route 58 bridge located over North Fork Holston River.    

VDOT encourages all interested citizens to attend the public hearing. To give citizens more flexibility in their participation, there will be no formal presentation. Instead, citizens will be able to review maps, drawings and other materials explaining the proposed project and discuss the plans with VDOT representatives at their convenience anytime between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Also, citizens will have an opportunity to record verbal comments for the official record anytime during the meeting. Written comments will be accepted during the meeting or may be submitted to VDOT within 10 days following the meeting (July 2).

Maps and other materials pertaining to the project are available for review at the VDOT Bristol District Office, 870 Bonham Road, Bristol, Virginia.
