Meeting scheduled to discuss blasting operations for Route 460 Phase II project in Grundy
Tuesday, March 31 at Riverview Elementary School - 6:30 p.m.
RICHMOND— Due to extensive blasting work planned during Phase II of the Route 460 widening in Grundy, a blasting information meeting has been scheduled for late March.
The meeting will be held Tuesday, March 31 at Riverview Elementary School, located at 27382 Riverside Drive in Grundy. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.
The purpose of the information meeting is to give citizens an opportunity to review and discuss plans for blasting along the Route 460 Phase II project in Grundy and also ask general questions about the project.
Phase II begins at the portion of Route 460 currently under construction in downtown Grundy and extends to Route 615.
“The blasting meeting for Phase II will be similar to the meeting held in 2006 for Phase I,” Rob Griffith, VDOT Area Construction Engineer, said. “We want to ensure businesses and citizens are aware of the blasting schedule and the blasting warning system in advance of the work.”
To give citizens
more flexibility in their participation, there will be no formal presentation.
Instead, citizens will be able to review information explaining the blasting
process and discuss the information with VDOT and contractor representatives at
their convenience anytime between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
For additional information, or if you require special assistance to participate in the meeting, please call the VDOT Lebanon Residency Office at (276) 889-7600 or device for hearing impaired (TTY) at 711. (END)
