Five highway contracts valued at $3.9 million approved for southwestern Virginia

RICHMOND – Five highway contracts valued at approximately $3.9 million were recently awarded in the Bristol District of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).  The Bristol District consists of 12 counties in southwestern Virginia:  Washington, Smyth, Lee, Scott, Russell, Buchanan, Tazewell, Bland, Wise, Dickenson, Grayson, and Wythe.

W-L Construction & Paving, Inc., Chilhowie, received two contracts for paving on various routes in Dickenson and Wise counties, valued at approximately $1.7 million and $945,911 respectively. 

Mac Construction, Inc., Oakwood, also received a $632,159 contract for paving various routes in Buchanan County.

A $316,503 contract was awarded to Elk Knob, Inc., Pennington Gap, to replace the deck of the Route 782 bridge over the Bluestone River in Tazewell County.

Lastly, an $849,000 contract was awarded to C.L. Dale Construction Services, LLC, Lebanon, to widen, pave, improve drainage and install guardrail along a 1.43-mile section of Route 658 (Flat Spur Road) in Dickenson County. (END)
