Dale Boulevard Repairs Near Completion
Prince William County road is expected to reopen mid to late next week

PRINCE WILLIAM—As Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews continue to work 12-hour days and weekends to repair the washout at Dale Boulevard, the road is expected to reopen to traffic mid to late next week (weather permitting).

Over the holiday weekend, contractors will pour concrete curbs in preparation for asphalt paving early next week. Crews will restore traffic to the bare asphalt road first, and will complete the final milling, surface coat and lane-striping after the road has been reopened.

All four lanes of Dale Boulevard just west of Mapledale Avenue have been closed since May 12, when record-level rains left a 20-foot deep by 25-foot wide breach in the roadway.

Dale Boulevard is a heavily used commuter route, carrying about 26,000 vehicles per day. The road is closed between Mapledale Avenue and Nassau Drive, approximately four miles from its interchange with I-95.

Motorists should continue to follow the posted detours:

Motorists heading west on Dale Boulevard will use Ridgefield Road to Prince William Parkway, to Hoadly Road to Dale Boulevard.

Motorists heading east on Dale Boulevard will use Hoadly Road to Prince William Parkway, to Ridgefield Road to Dale Boulevard.  Local traffic will be able to access their neighborhoods.
