Media Advisory Route 28 in Loudoun County Named Darrell Green Boulevard


WHAT: Ceremony to designate Route 28 in Loudoun County “Darrell Green Boulevard”

WHEN: Wed., December 3, 2003
10:00 a.m.

WHY: Darrell Green, a 15-year resident of Loudoun County, has dedicated his life to helping youth and strengthening families through the Darrell Green Youth Life Foundation, founded in 1988.
To honor the retired Redskin Cornerback (#28), Senator Bill Mims sponsored a bill to name the Loudoun County portion of Route 28 "Darrell Green Boulevard". The bill received unanimous support and was signed into law by Governor Warner. Earlier this year, the Virginia General Assembly presented a commendation to Darrell Green as an Outstanding Virginian for his tireless efforts on behalf of families and children of Virginia.

Ceremony to be held in the building lobby

From Route 7: Take Route 28 south about 4.5 miles and turn left onto Innovation Avenue. Go one mile to stop sign at Rock Hill Road and turn left. Go approximately 50 yds and turn left into driveway for CIT. You will see a Visitors sign at the first garage entrance. Take elevator to Commons Area, Level 1.
From the Capital Beltway: Take the Dulles Toll Road West to Exit 9B/Route 28 North. Stay right and turn right onto Route 28 North. At first traffic signal, turn right onto Innovation Avenue. Go one mile to stop sign at Rock Hill Road and turn left. Go approximately 50 yds and turn left into driveway for CIT. You will see a Visitors sign at the first garage entrance. Take elevator to Commons Area, Level 1.
