Commonwealth Transportation Board Awards $1.65 Million for East Market Street Widening in the Town of Leesburg
The Commonwealth Transportation Board today awarded more than $1.65 million for the widening of East Market Street in the Town of Leesburg according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
The enhancement project will reconstruct a half-mile segment of East Market Street to include widening the lanes, new sidewalks, traffic control devices and signals, landscaping, walls and relocation of utilities.
The project will help revitalize the old town shopping district from Loudoun Street to Catoctin Circle.
Rustler Construction, Inc. of Herndon is the contractor for the project that is expected to begin this spring.
