Commonwealth Transportation Board Awards $9.5 Million in Paving Maintenance Contracts
The Commonwealth Transportation Board today awarded more than $9.5 million for paving work and sidewalk, curb and gutter projects throughout Northern Virginia according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). They include:
· Two contracts totaling $5.37 million for various paving projects throughout Northern Virginia, as well as joint repairs on I-95 in Prince William County were awarded to Virginia Paving Co., Division of Lane Construction Corp. of Meridian, Conn.;
· Three contracts totaling $1.78 million to repair sidewalks, curb and gutter and concrete entrances in Fairfax County were awarded to D & F Construction, Inc. of Forestville, Md. Repairs will be made in the following subdivisions: Braewood, Harrow and Howes, Kings Manor, McLean Hamlett, McLean Hunt Estate, Montour Heights, Panoramic Hills, Sleepy Hollow Run, Timberly South, East Ox Cluster, Franklin Farms, Fox Mill Estates, Cabells Mill, Green Meadow and Hollin Hall.
· A $1.85 million paving contract for various paving projects throughout Northern Virginia was awarded to Julius Branscome, Inc. of Woodbridge, Va.;
· A $506,975 contract for various paving projects throughout Northern Virginia was awarded to Chemung Contracting Corporation of Pine City, NY.
Providing appropriate funding for the VDOT’s Maintenance program is a priority component of the Virginia Transportation Development Plan. The paving and repair work will be done from spring through late fall 2003.
