Property Management Inventory

The Virginia Department of Transportation acquires properties for roadway construction and sometimes must purchase property outside the acquisition limits. Sometimes the property owner requests that VDOT purchase these tracks, and sometimes the appraiser deems them "uneconomic remnants." Once the Commonwealth acquires title to these properties, VDOT's Property Management Section oversees the management and disposition of them.

Over the past several years, there has been a push by the General Assembly to sell these surplus properties and get them back on the tax rolls. They are posted on this Web page as they become available.
