Design-Build Request for Proposals

The current RFPs are listed below with a short description and the due date. Design-build proposals must be received by the date and time according to the selected RFP.

Please review the criteria prior to submittal to ensure that your firm receives equal consideration in the evaluation. For more information on the RFP process see the individual RFP.

In order to display and print the RFPs, the Adobe Reader software (version 3.0 or later) must be present on your system. If you do not have a copy installed on your computer, you will need to download and configure the free software here before working with these files.

This is a one-time process which will then permit you to view and print these and other PDF files from the Web. Please follow the installation and browser configuration instructions.

Braddock Road and Pleasant Valley Road Intersection Improvement

Location:  The project is located in western Fairfax County. 

Description: Furnish a proposal for:

  • Roadway and roundabout design
  • Milling and overlay
  • Drainage
  • Quality assurance and quality control
  • Construction management
  • Right-of-way acquisition
  • Environmental Compliance
  • Utility relocations and Design

for support of design and construction and overall project management for the Braddock Road and Pleasant Valley Road Intersection Improvement project in Fairfax County.

Deadline:  April 24, 2014 (4 p.m. prevailing local time).

Project Information Meeting:  A project information meeting was held on March 6, 2014, for potential Offerors at the Northern Virginia District Office of the Virginia Department of Transportation, 4975 Alliance Drive, Fairfax, VA, 22030, in the Cameron Room at 9 a.m. (prevailing local time).

I-495 Northern Section Shoulder Use

Location:   The Project is located in Fairfax County, Virginia, on the northbound side of I-495 from the vicinity of the Old Dominion Drive overpass to the George Washington Memorial Parkway overpass.  The total project length is approximately 1.8 miles.  

Description:   Furnish a proposal for:

  • Quality Assurance and Quality Control
  • Construction Management
  • Environmental Compliance
  • Utility relocations and Design

for support of design and construction and overall project management for the I-495 Northern Section Shoulder Use project in Fairfax County.

Location:  The project is located along Interstate 77 (I-77) in Carroll County, Virginia

Purpose:  To improve traffic operations along a 12-mile segment of I-77.

Description:  Furnish a proposal for the:

  • Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
  • Survey
  • Environmental permits 
  • Utility relocations 
  • Structures
  • Quality assurance and quality control 

 

The Design-Build project includes design, construction, and overall project management for the I-77 Active Traffic and Safety Management System.

Route 29 / Charlottesville Bypass

Location: The project is located in Albemarle County.

Description: Furnish a Qualifications Submittal for the:

  • Environmental permits
  • Right-of-way acquisition
  • Utility relocations
  • Construction
  • Structures
  • Quality assurance and quality control

for design and construction and overall project management for the Route 29 / Charlottesville Bypass, Albemarle County.

Deadline:  Nov. 29, 2011 (4 p.m. prevailing local time).

Project information meeting:  A project information meeting and utility scoping meeting will be held Oct.6, 2011, for potential offerors at the Culpeper District Office of the Virginia Department of Transportation, located at 1601 Orange Road, Culpeper, VA, 22701, in the district auditorium beginning at 9 a.m. (prevailing local time). 

VDOT has determined that the Offerors listed below have submitted a responsive Qualifications Submittal for the Route 29/Charlottesville Bypass Project.  Each Offeror who has submitted a responsive Qualifications Submittal will be permitted to submit a Proposal for the Project, due on April 17, 2012. 

The Proposal will consist generally of a Letter of Submittal, Attachments to the Letter of Submittal, and the Price Proposal.
