VDOT Software and License Program
Program Overview
The Virginia Department of Transportation provides all Consulting firms, Contractors and Utility companies that have ACTIVE VDOT CONTRACTS (SOLICITED where PPTA/ Design-Build is a factor) with the necessary software and licenses to develop Right of Way and Construction Plans.
Currently, the software utilized by the department for designing roadways is GEOPAK 2004 and MicroStation V8 each requiring a license. In addition to the software and licensing VDOT furnishes Cell Libraries, an Online CADD manual and Resource Files.
VDOT is under a Select Agreement with Bentley Systems for maintenance of all MicroStation and GEOPAK Licenses. The Public Domain IGrds software is available for those who might still need it.
The CADD Support group provides ALL technical support for these licensed software packages. The software and licensing is issued for the duration of each individual active project contract. Click here for information related to training.PURPOSE: NOTIFICATION ALERT
