Airport Access Program Checklist

Funding

• Available to counties, cities, certain towns

  • Maximum project allocation - $300,000 unmatched and up to $150,000 in matching state funds

• Existing Public-Use Airport

• Determination of eligibility

• Planned Public-Use Airport

• Determination of eligibility

• Provision of acceptable surety by locality

Request & project information submittal

• Locality provides appropriate resolution request of governmental    body and completed SERP acknowledgement form

•   Property description

•   Airport facility construction/expansion plans

•   Project description

•   Project estimate

•   Project administration responsibilities

• SERP – Please note that the State Environmental Review  Process (SERP) must be conducted and completed prior to initiating work  on all state-funded projects       

Local Assistance’ review & Recommendation

• CTB meeting agenda is finalized 2 weeks prior to meeting

CTB’S REVIEW

• CTB meeting is usually held the 3^rd Thursday of each month
  

PROJECT APPROVED

• Locality/VDOT Agreement  – May be necessary even if project is to be administered by VDOT:  Required if project is to be administered by locality

• Funds Authorized - CTB approved project allocation will be authorized for expenditure upon completion of contingencies set in resolution
