Accessible Pedestrian Signals Guidelines

Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS) guidelines have been developed for use in the assessment and installation of APS devices.   These devices  provide disabled persons with audible tones, verbal messages, and/or vibrotactile surfaces at Traffic Signal Intersections.

The APS guidelines are provided in VDOT’s Traffic Engineering memorandum (TE-341) for your information.
