Garrett W. Moore, P.E.

Chief Engineer

Garrett W. Moore was named Chief Engineer in December 2012.

He has previously served the department in a variety of capacities, including administrator of Staunton and Northern Virginia district offices, assistant resident engineer in Fredericksburg, as well as resident engineer in Warrenton. 

He began his career as an engineer officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, retiring as a lieutenant colonel.

Education

He holds a bachelor of science in engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master’s in civil engineering from Virginia Tech. He is a licensed professional engineer.

Organizations

He is active in the Ruritans and his church.

Personal

Originally from Oakland, Calif., he now lives in Warrenton with his wife, Robin. Their daughter, Bonny is a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia.
